Singer Whitney Wolanin spoofs 'Christmas Story' on 'Rudolph' video

Seems like 23-year-old singer-songwriter Whitney Wolanin had plenty of Christmas spirit (and then some) for the music video of her piano-driven “Run, Run Rudolph.”

Wolanin does a spot-on spoof/homage of the iconic 1983 film “A Christmas Story,” with members of her family joining her in re-creating scenes from the film. It was all shot in the original Cleveland, Ohio, home where the film was shot, BTW.

“‘Run, Run Rudolph’ and my whole mini-album is inspired by my love for Christmas and the magic of people coming together to have fun,” she tells American Songwriter. “I was especially drawn to the song because of how lively it is — it’s one of those songs that make people dance. So go have some eggnog and throw your inhibitions to the wind.”

The song is featured on Wolanin’s Christmas mini-album.

2013 also marks the 30th anniversary of the film! Check out the official museum devoted to Ralphie’s house at achristmastoryhouse.com.
