A man and a woman were injured in a crash Monday morning in unincorporated Dorr Township in McHenry County.

Around 8:50 a.m., the 28-year-old man was driving a blue 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix westbound on Route 176 near Dean Street when his car drove into the oncoming lane, hitting an eastbound 2008 black Toyota Sienna, a statement from McHenry County Sheriff’s office said.

The man was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock, where he remained in serious-to-critical condition before being taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The woman driving the Toyota Sienna was also taken to Centegra, where she was stabilized, the statement said.

The woman was wearing her seatbelt but it is not known if the man was wearing his seatbelt, the statement said.

Police said alcohol was not thought to have been involved in the crash.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Traffic Crash Investigations Unit is investigating.
