Schaumburg man killed in traffic crash

A Schaumburg man died Saturday, three days after he was hurt in a traffic crash in the northwest suburb.

John Marrs, 83, was hurt in a traffic crash at 11:26 a.m. April 1 in the 600 block of East Golf Road, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Marrs, of the 300 block of West Schaumburg Road, was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center where he died at 4:52 p.m. Saturday, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Monday found he died of multiple injuries and ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.

Schaumburg police had no immediate information on the crash.
