WASHINGTON — Democratic White House hopeful Hillary Clinton hits hometown Chicago on May 20 for major fundraisers at the homes of two longtime supporters, business executives Fred Eychaner and J.B. Pritzker and his wife, M.K.

The invitations, obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times, say, “Please join us for a conversation with Hillary Rodham Clinton in support of Hillary for America.”

The events are the first Chicago visits for Clinton since she declared for president last month.

The fundraiser at the home of Eychaner, one of the major Democratic donors in the nation, is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

J.B. Pritzker is a longtime Clinton backer. He was a major supporter and fundraiser when Clinton ran the first time in 2008, even as his sister, now Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, was the national finance chair for President Barack Obama. The Pritzker event will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The ticket price is $2,700 per person. Anyone who raises $27,000 becomes a “Hillstarter.” The 270 is a reference to the number of electoral votes needed to become president. Hosts of the event are being asked to raise $50,000.

On Wednesday, John Podesta, the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, was in Chicago for what the campaign called a “kickoff finance strategy session” to which prospective donors were invited as well as those who already have been Clinton contributors. That downtown eventwas a way to rally the Chicago donors in advance of Clinton’s visit May 20.
