The Harrison Street bridge over the Dan Ryan Expressway reopened Thursday after being closed for construction for more than two years.

The new bridge between Des Plaines and Halsted over I-90/94 features one lane of traffic in each direction, a dedicated bike lane and wider sidewalks for pedestrians, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The bridge has been closed since March 3, 2014, as part of the reconstruction of the Jane Byrne Interchange.
