A man was found shot to death Saturday morning in northwest Indiana.

Officers responding to reports of a man down found 33-year-old Lynon Armon Donte unresponsive in the street about 5 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 44th Avenue in Gary, according to statements from Gary police and the Lake County coroner’s office.

Donte, who lived in Merrillville, had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:15 a.m., authorities said. His death was ruled a homicide.
