A man who was shot and critically wounded Monday evening while he was walking in the West Side Austin neighborhood has died.

Kyle Moore, 23, was walking at 6:22 p.m. in the 200 block of North Lockwood when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots, striking him in the chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital where he later died. His death was confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s Office Tuesday evening.

Area South detectives were investigating the shooting.
