A man was wounded in a shooting Monday night in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

At 8:24 p.m., the 23-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his hip in the 10500 block of South May, according to Chicago police. He was riding a bicycle when two males got out of a black sedan and shot him.

The 23-year-old was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating.
