A man was wounded in a shooting Sunday evening in the Brainerd neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old was shot in his torso at 5:08 p.m. in the 9100 block of South Ada Street, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center where his condition stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating.
