A man who died after he was pulled out of Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon near Montrose Harbor on the North Side has been identified.

About 2:30 p.m., rescue crews pulled the man out of the water approximately 100 yards from Montrose Harbor at 601 W. Montrose Ave., according to Chicago Police and Fire Media Affairs.

Thomas R. Dickens, 50, was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:55 a.m. Sunday, according to the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 5400 block of North Broadway.

An autopsy did not immediately rule on his cause and manner of death.
