A man wanted for the murder of a railroad security guard in south suburban Harvey was arrested in an undercover sting operation Sunday in Chicago Heights.
Harvey police received a tip that 24-year-old Rashad Williams would be in Chicago Heights Sunday evening, according to Harvey city spokesman Sean Howard.
Police from the suburban departments set up several undercover stings, and Williams was captured at 8:30 p.m., Howard said. He is charged with first-degree murder of in the Nov. 26 shooting of 38-year-old CN security guard Tyrone Hardin.
Howard said the victim’s sister, Michele Hardin, called the news of Williams’ arrest “bittersweet.”
Williams, of East Hazel Crest, was expected to appear for a bond hearing at the Markham courthouse Wednesday.
