A 16-year-old boy was shot in the buttocks Friday night in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Just before 7 p.m., someone walked up to the boy outside in the 1400 block of South Springfield and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
