A west suburban man died five days after he was shot last week in the South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood.

Roberto Ortiz, 20, was outside about 8:50 p.m. on July 18 in the 4400 block of South Wolcott when a male got out of a black four-door vehicle and shot him in the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Ortiz, of the 2600 block of South 60th Court Cicero, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 12:48 a.m. Saturday, according to the medical examiner’s office.
