A man was shot Thursday morning in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.

The shooting happened during an attempted robbery at 9:06 a.m. in the 800 block of East 63rd Street, according to Chicago Police.

The 20-year-old was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
