A person was shot early Sunday on the Tri-State Tollway in south suburban Markham.

The shooting happened on northbound I-294 near 163rd Street, according to Illinois State Police Trooper David Roman.

A vehicle pulled alongside the victim and someone started shooting at the victim’s vehicle, Roman said.

The person drove to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where they were admitted with non-life-threatening injuries, Roman said. The victim’s gender and age were not released.

Illinois State Police are investigating.
