Two teenage boys shot in Gresham

Two teenage boys were wounded in a Gresham neighborhood shooting Saturday night on the South Side.

The boys, ages 15 and 16, were standing on the sidewalk about 8 p.m. in the 8900 block of South Winchester when another male walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

The younger boy suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, where his condition was stabilized, police said. The older boy was shot in the ankle and taken to Christ Medical center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was also stabilized.

A police source said both boys are documented gang members.
