The death of a 63-year-old woman who was struck by a CTA Red Line train Saturday morning in the North Side Wrigleyville neighborhood has been ruled a suicide.
Sheryl Sue Cook was struck by the train about 7:40 a.m. at the Addison station at 940 W. Addison St., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Cook, of the 3500 block of North Walton, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 8:15 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy found she died of multiple blunt force injuries from being struck by the train, and her death was ruled a suicide.
