Junior Jimmy Martinelli’s first and only 3-pointer Wednesday came with 1.8 seconds left and turned out to be the game-winning basket as the Glenbrook South boys basketball team beat Prosser 53-52 at the New Trier/Loyola Thanksgiving Tournament.

The Titans overcame a 42-34 deficit after three quarters for their first win of the season.

“I didn’t say all that much to them,” Glenbrook South coach Ben Widner said of his pep talk before the start of the fourth quarter. “The players fired each other up. Jimmy, he took charge of the huddle. They all believed we were going to come back.”
