Man robs South Side bank

A man robbed a bank Saturday morning in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

The suspect walked into an ABC Bank branch at 9443 S. Ashland about 11:30 a.m., handed a note to a teller and then ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police and the FBI said.

He is described as a 25 to 30-year-old black man standing about 5-foot-8, authorities said. He was wearing a black puffy vest, a black long-sleeve shirt, faded black pants and a black skull cap with a brim.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the FBI’s Chicago office at (312) 421-6700.
