(VILLA PARK) Villa Park police are warning residents in the west suburb to be on the lookout for two men knocking on doors and claiming to be plumbers.

A homeowner said they parked in her driveway in the 600 block of North Iowa about 1 p.m. Saturday, Villa Park police said in a community alert.

They claimed they were plumbers and that they were called to the residence, but the homeowner said she never called them, the alert said.

They had no business cards or tools, and there were no markings on their rusty, older-model red van indicating they were from a plumbing company, the alert said. Another person also spotted the same vehicle circling the neighborhood that afternoon.

One of the men is described as a white man in his 60s, overweight and of average height. The other is in his 40s, and of average height and weight, police said. Both were unshaven.

Anyone who sees any suspicious activity should call 911, Villa Park police said.
