Joakim Noah will sit out for the second straight game with a lingering sprained right ankle when the Bulls play host to Portland at the United Center on Friday night.

“He’s about the same. We’ll see where he is tomorrow,’’ coach Tom Thibodeau said after the team shootaround Friday morning.

After playing host to the Trail Blazers (17-5), who have a better record than any Eastern Conference team but are third in the West, the Bulls play at Miami on Sunday and at Atlanta on Monday.

“It’s day by day,’’ Noah said when asked if about his chances of playing on the road trip. “If I could play, I could play. But right now, my ankle’s still bothering me. You have to be smart.’’

Noah and the team want to give the ankle time to heal properly at this point in a long season.

“It’s lingering,’’ the All-Star center said. “But it’s the life we chose. I’m doing all the rehab, getting all the information. Hopefully, it won’t be to much longer.’’

Doug McDermott (right knee) also will be out vs. Portland. Taj Gibson (left ankle) is probable.
