A man was shot in both legs Thursday morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The shooting happened in the 3400 block of West Monroe about 11:35 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

The 23-year-old man was shot in both legs and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition had stabilized.
