With Thornton needing a boost in its McDipper Tournament opener Friday night against Seton, Samuel Taylor came off the bench and delivered what his teammates have come to expect: long-range accuracy.

“He’s our energizer,” Brian Davis said. “He comes off the bench and gets us good buckets. He’s a scorer.”

Taylor went 6-for-10 from three and finished with 22 points as Thornton ran away from Seton 75-58 at Rich South.
