A man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon in the East Side neighborhood, police said.

Two men, ages 23 and 26, were in the 10600 block of South Avenue M about 4:45 p.m. when they were shot, police said. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The 26-year-old was shot in the chest and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. The other man was shot in the left arm and torso, and his condition had stabilized Friday night.
