One run would have been enough, but sophomore starter Kennan Dolezal and senior pitcher Cassidy Kraimer got 21 runs from the Barrington offense to back up their combined no-hitter. The seven starting seniors used their knowledge at the plate and on the basepaths to wreak havoc against the younger, more inexperienced Eagles on Friday for a finally tally of 21-0.

Barrington took control right out of the gate on offense against Leyden and never let up at the plate. Eight different players got a hit and eight players scored at least once. The Fillies (6-0) have scored 99 runs in their short season.

Dolezal started for the Fillies and fell behind early in counts often but used her strong arm and off-speed pitches to fool the Eagles’ hitters. Kraimer came in to relieve in the fourth inning and took care of the rest. The two pitchers combined for five strikeouts.

Senior Loren Krzysko went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer and senior Tess Bolger went 4-for-4 and was a homer short of the cycle.

The Eagles struggled on defense, committing seven errors. The pitching also struggled throughout the day. Sophomore Sammi Caputo and freshman Kendall Duwall struggled with their command on the mound and had a hard time getting strikes.

“I knew going in they’re one of the top teams in the area,” Eagles coach Kurt Schuett said. “And we’re a young team. They’re an experienced team. They have nine seniors.”
