Since Thursday is the 40th anniversary of Phillippe Petit’s famous walk between the two World Trade Center towers in lower Manhattan, TriStar Pictures has released the above production photo to mark the occasion. Joseph Gordon-Leavitt portrays Petit in “The Walk,” co-starring Charlotte LeBon, in the film about the French adventurer’s amazing — and extremely dangerous — feat.

“The Walk” is currently scheduled for release in October, 2015. It is being directed by Oscar winner and South Side native Robert Zemeckis.
