Man shot on Northwest Side

A man was shot Monday night in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 21-year-old man was standing outside in the 2400 block of North Lamon at 8:50 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

He was shot in the buttocks and side and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
