Man killed in Near West Side shooting

A man was shot and killed late Sunday morning on the Near West Side.

Shawn Holloway, 21, of the 3000 block of West Walnut, was shot in the side and back about 11 a.m. in the 2100 block of West Warren, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Holloway then walked into Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:10 p.m., authorities said. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

A police source said he was a documented gang member and that the shooting may have been a drive-by attack.
