Cut the cost of Walker Stalker Con Chicago tickets with Groupon offer

Heads up (not off): Groupon is offering half-price tickets to next month’s Walker Stalker Con at Navy Pier.

The two-day convention aimed at fans of AMC’s post-apocalyptic smash hit, “The Walking Dead,” will take place Feb. 21-22.

Celebrity guests scheduled to appear include Melissa McBride (the indomitable Carol), Emily Kinney (Beth), Chandler Riggs (Carl), David Morrissey (the Governor), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham), Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (Bob), Chad Coleman (Tyreese), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) and Daniel Thomas May (Allen), among others. Talent from other shows, such as “Breaking Bad’s” RJ Mitte (Walt Jr.) and Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring), are also in the lineup.

The convention, which includes meet-and-greets, panel discussions and a chance for like-minded fans to geek out under one roof, was started by a couple of fanboy dads from Tennessee who do “Walking Dead” podcasts. They launched Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta, where the series is filmed. It soon spread to other cities. Last year, the event came to Rosemont for three days.

The GouponLive offer cuts the prices of various admission packages in half:

  • $24 for one-day general admission on Saturday (up to $48.25 value)
  • $19 for one-day general admission on Sunday (up to $38 value)
  • $37 for two-day general admission on both days (up to $74.50 value)
  • $105 for two-day VIP admission on both days (up to $211 value). VIP admission includes access to VIP lines for photo ops, priority and front-section seating at all panels, and a convention poster.

February is a big month for “Walking Dead” fans. In addition to the Chicago convention, the show returns from its midseason hiatus Feb. 8.
