Richards nicks Tinley Park

Kush Baxter did exactly what he’s been taught to do: follow the shot and crash the boards.

When Richards teammate Chris Bender came up with a huge steal Friday night against Tinley Park and raced to the basket for the potential game-winning shot, Baxter trailed close behind, just in case.

Bender’s shot didn’t fall, but Baxter was there to grab the rebound and convert a layup with 7.4 seconds remaining to give Richards a 65-63 lead and eventual South Suburban crossover win.
