A second man has died of injuries suffered when a car slammed into a semi trailer last week in south suburban Harvey.

About 11 p.m. Wednesday, the Nissan Maxima was speeding eastbound on 159th Street when it drove under the trailer as the semi truck was making a left turn onto the street from Center Avenue, Harvey city spokesman Sean Howard told reporters at the scene.

Three men had to be extricated from the car.

Brian McChristian of the 15800 block of South Halsted in Harvey was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

William Curry, 26, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 4:57 p.m. Friday, according to the medical examiner’s office. Curry lived in the 14800 block of Lincoln Avenue in Harvey.

A third man was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey in “very critical condition,” Howard said.

The semi driver was making a legal turn, Howard said. No charges or citations were issued.
