Ona day the pitchers were being stingy, defense was the difference when two neighborhood softball rivals met for a nonconference game at Aurora Central Catholic.

A sharply hit two-out single to center field by Andrea Bieritz drove in two unearned runs in the third inning Tuesday and was all the support Chargers’ pitcher Paige Miller needed in a 2-1 victory over Rosary.
