SHARE Police warn of Marquette Park robberies

Police are warning residents about a pair of robberies reported earlier this month in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

In each incident, two men have approached victims and demanded or forcibly taken their property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The first robbery was reported in the 7100 block of South Western at 8:05 p.m. May 3, while the second happened in the 7000 block of South Western about 3:30 a.m. May 8, police said.

The suspects are described as black men between 18 and 30 years old, police said. One is between 5-foot-9 and 6 feet tall and weighs 170 to 225 pounds. The other is between 5-foot-6 and 6-foot-1, weighs 130 to 160 pounds and has dreadlocks.
