There’s probably no Chicago media person better at multitasking than David Kaplan.

TV, radio, emcee—he can do it all.

Just don’t ask him to talk and cook eggs at the same time.

Kaplan was trying to do just that while appearing on WGN (720-AM) with Steve Cochran on Tuesday morning.

What began as a scary moment made for great radio.

With smoke alarms blaring in the background, Cochran tells Kaplan: “This is going to keep you from the Food Network show you clearly auditioned for.” You can hear WGN’s entire audio here.
