A 28-year-old man was shot when a group of people tried to rob him Saturday night in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Multiple people — one armed with a gun — approached the man and announced a robbery about 9:10 p.m. in the 100 block of North Kildare, police said.

The 28-year-old began running, and the person with the gun fired shots, police said.

The man, shot in the abdomen, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.
