A man died after he was shot Monday afternoon in the Northwest Side Irving Park neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened about 2:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of North Hamlin, police said.

The 29-year-old victim was sitting passenger in a vehicle when another vehicle pulled up, and someone inside got out and fired shots, police said.

The man was shot multiple times in the upper torso and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was in critical condition, police said.
