A man was shot Thursday afternoon in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 27-year-old was walking in the 3100 block of North Lavergne about 2:40 p.m. when he got into an argument with someone who pulled out a handgun and fired shots, police said.

The man was shot in the leg and taken in good condition to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.
