Man hurt in Chatham shooting

A man was wounded in a shooting early Thursday in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 28-year-old man was outside in the 0-100 block of East 89th Street at 2:56 a.m. when he heard shots and realized he’d been hit, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.

He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in good condition, Gaines said.
