A single-car crash late Thursday on the Far South Side left a 19-year-old man dead and two others critically injured.
The crash happened about 10:05 p.m. in the 11600 block of South Torrence, Chicago Police said. The vehicle lost control, struck a curb, fire hydrant and then car tipped over and crashed into a porch, police said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Two other men who were inside the vehicle — one 18 the other 20 — were pinned inside and had to be extricated, officials said.
It took about an hour to get the last man out of the car, according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford.
The other two men were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Langford said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office had not been notified of the death late Thursday.
