A former Northwest Side man serving a 28-year prison sentence for stabbing his mother to death outside her bar in 2011 is now charged with murdering his father, whose body was found the same day.

Police found the body of Cezar Waskowski, 73, bloodied and wrapped in a shower curtain and plastic on June 6, 2011, at the home he shared with his son, Cezar Henry Waskowski, prosecutors said Friday.

The father suffered multiple stab wounds to his neck and hands, and his death was ruled a homicide, authorities said.

Detectives had gone to the apartment in the 3700 block of North Kilpatrick while investigating the murder of the elder man’s estranged wife, Henryka Waskowski, which happened earlier that day.

In that attack, Cezar Henry Waskowski chased his mother down the street and stabbed her to death outside her bar, Henryka’s, in the 5700 block of West Irving Park Road, the Sun-Times reported previously.

A man who worked at the bar suffered minor stab wounds when he tried to intervene, authorities said.

Cezar Henry Waskowski, now 34, is facing new charges relating to his father’s murder, and was ordered held on a $1 million bond during a hearing Friday, court records show.

When detectives found his father’s body, there were several objects arranged around it on top of the plastic, including candles, bottles of liquor and water, small flags, a clock and a calendar, prosecutors said Friday.

Authorities found the father’s car in Westchester by using OnStar, and police arrested the son after they found him inside the parked vehicle, prosecutors said.

They found a hunting knife with him, which later tested positive for his mother’s blood, prosecutors said. They also found a backpack in the vehicle that contained gloves and a roll of plastic garbage bags similar to those covering the windows in his father’s apartment.

Authorities also found the son’s palm prints and fingerprints on plastic underneath his father’s body, prosecutors said.

Cezar Henry Waskowski is already serving a 28-year sentence for his mother’s murder after pleading guilty in August 2013, according to court records. He will next appear in court June 26 for a preliminary hearing on the new murder charges.
