What’s going on with Bears WR Alshon Jeffery?

Bears coach John Fox wouldn’t officially rule any player out for Saturday’s exhibition against the Bengals, but receivers Alshon Jeffery (calf), Marquess Wilson (hamstring) and Eddie Royal (hip) are unlikely to play after missing practice on Thursday.

Jeffery’s situation has become curious. His calf strain has been deemed mild, but he hasn’t practiced since hurting himself in a walk-through prior to the first preseason opener against the Dolphins.

Jeffery was a spectator for the joint practices in Indianapolis, but he has been noticeably absent this week at Halas Hall.

Is Jeffery, who was initially in a walking boot and crutches, doing any activities?

“Yes,” Fox said. “We have activities indoors. [The receivers are] getting treatment. When they get medically cleared, they’ll be out here. They’re doing all kinds of different stuff, rehab, treatment with the trainers and the medical people.”
