A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg Monday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Just before 8 p.m., he was outside in the 100 block of North Laporte when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right leg, and his condition was stabilized, police said.

Police think the shooting was gang-related.
