Man stabbed during Grand Crossing robbery attempt

A man was stabbed during an attempted robbery early Wednesday in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The 24-year-old was stabbed in the left leg during a robbery attempt about 1:15 a.m. in the 7100 block of South Blackstone, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.

Police initially reported the man had been shot, but further investigation revealed he had suffered a stab wound.
