Two men were critically wounded in a shooting early Thursday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The men, ages 26 and 44, told investigators they were driving down the street at 1:54 a.m. in the 800 block of North Leamington when they heard shots and realized they had been hit, according to Chicago Police.

The younger man was shot in the back and leg while the older man was shot three times in the arm and once in the back, police said. They were both taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
