A man was critically wounded in a shooting Sunday night in the Wrightwood neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

At 6:52 p.m., the 23-year-old was outside in the 8000 block of South Sacramento Avenue when a light grey SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Chicago Police said. The SUV was driven south on Sacramento Avenue after the shooting.

The man was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the head and back, police said.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
The man suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
