A man was shot and seriously wounded early Tuesday in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 31-year-old was found about 3:55 a.m. lying in the street in the 7700 block of South Exchange, according to Chicago Police.

He had suffered one gunshot wound to the lower back and another to the lower right side, police said. The man was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Police said additional information was not immediately available as the man has stopped cooperating with investigators.
