The Bears made some expected moves official on Wednesday. It included putting tight end Zach Miller on injured reserve.

Miller broke his right foot on the third-to-last play of the second quarter of the Bears’ 22-16 loss against the Giants.

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul stepped on Miller’s left foot. With his foot trapped, Miller awkwardly planted his right foot and fell.

Coach John Fox said after the loss that Miller dealt with a similar injury in his other foot. In 2014, Miller suffered a lisfranc fracture in his left foot and missed the entire regular season.

Losing Miller is a big blow to the Bears’ offense. He is the team’s leading receivers with 47 catches for 486 yards and four touchdowns this season.

The Bears also announced that quarterback David Fales was signed off the Ravens’ practice squad. Fales was signed with starter Jay Cutler dealing with a shoulder injury.

With linebacker Jerrell Freeman suspended, second-year linebacker Jonathan Anderson also was promoted from the practice squad.
