Earlier this month, as part of the Chicago Humanities Festival, I chatted with Tony Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, and Ashley Wheater, artistic director of the Joffrey Ballet, about the creation of the company’s newly imagined take on “The Nutcracker” which opens Dec. 10 at the Auditorium Theatre.
