A man was wounded in a shooting Thursday night in the Northwest Side Kelvyn Park neighborhood.

The 40-year-old was walking on the sidewalk at 10:28 p.m. in the 3100 block of North Kilpatrick when he heard gunfire and felt pain, Chicago Police said.

He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the buttocks, police said. His condition had stabilized.
