Lane Tech grad Justina Machado reportedly is set to star alongside Rita Moreno on Netflix’s Latino remake of “One Day at a Time.”

Deadline reports Machado, best known as nurse Vanessa Diaz on the HBO classic “Six Feet Under,” has been cast in the lead role as a recently separated mom raising a teenage daughter and tween son. It’s a role loosely based on Bonnie Franklin’s character on the original 1975-1984 CBS series.

Moreno will play her mother.

Machado, a Chicago native, broke into acting with the Latino Chicago Theater Company.
